Lancaster’s game-winner came in the third minute
SOUND BEND, Ind. – Camryn Lancaster's goal in the third minute stood up as the game-winner as TCU advanced to its third consecutive Sweet 16 with a 1-0 win over Michigan State Friday afternoon. Lauren Kellett made six saves to record her 10th shutout of the season.
The Rundown
TCU wasted no time on the offensive attack to start the contest. In the third minute, Chaylyn Hubbard found Camryn Lancaster with some open space. She fired a rocket from just above the 18 past a diving Spartan goalkeeper to put the Horned Frogs up 1-0.
Michigan State threatened several times throughout the first half, but TCU's back line held strong, preventing quality scoring chances. At halftime, Lauren Kellett had four saves, the most in a first half this season.
TCU's defense continued to shine throughout the second half. The Spartans tallied seven shots, only two of which found their way on goal, in the final 45 minutes.
Michigan State's best scoring opportunity came in the 82nd minute, but Kellett slid to her right to block the shot and keep the Spartans off the board. After the big save by Kellett, the Spartans tallied back-to-back shots, but both hit off the top of the cross bar.
Kellett finished the game with six saves.
Stat of the Game

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
His overall thoughts on the game
"I have to give respect to Michigan State on a great season. They were definitely a worthy opponent and they gave us a lot to handle, but we were able to come away with the result."
On Lauren Kellett's play
"It's hard to be concentrated in these elements and be on point all of the time. There are times where she doesn't have any action and she can still make big saves for us."
On advancing to TCU's third consecutive Sweet 16
"It's hard to make that the expectation, but obviously we want to go as far as we can go. We want to make it to the Final Four and win a national championship. As a program, it's a really cool thing to say we've done that three years in a row.
