
Hubbard Named Defensive Player of the Week

She also earned College Soccer News' National Team of the Week honors
FORT WORTH – Chaylyn Hubbard was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on College Soccer News' National Team of the Week for her performance in No. 9 TCU's 1-0 victory at Kansas State.
Hubbard recorded the game-winning goal in the 43rd minute to propel TCU over the Wildcats. The goal was the first of her career. She played the entirety of the match against Kansas State and was part of a defense that was instrumental in holding the Wildcats to no goals. The 1-0 win was TCU's sixth shutout of the season.
The graduate defender has 11 points (1G, 9A) in her five seasons with the Horned Frogs. She has started 64 consecutive games and has played in and started 94 of 95 games in her career. Hubbard has played the entirety of 40 matches and the Horned Frogs have tallied 46 shutouts in her five years.
This is Hubbard's first career Big 12 weekly honor. Hubbard is the third defensive player from TCU to be honored as Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week this season, with Brenna Brosam (Aug. 30) and Olivia Hasler (Sept. 13) also garnering the award.
No. 9 TCU (7-2-3, 2-0-1) hosts West Virginia (4-3-5, 1-0-2) Thursday at 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. The game will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
