
Frimodt in Top 10 After First Day at Colonial

TCU begins the final round at 8 a.m.
FORT WORTH – Senior Gustav Frimodt is tied for seventh place after the first day of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational on Monday.
The talented 16-team field had perfect weather for a 36-hole day at Colonial Country Club. Frimodt took advantage and shot 1-over 71 in the first round and 4-under 66 in the second. His second 18 included an eagle on the par 5 No. 1 hole. The 66 was a career-best at Colonial.
Frimodt's total score of 3-under 137 is three back of the leader, Bartley Forrester (-6) of Georgia Tech.
Jacob Skov Olesen was two shots back of Frimodt at 1-under 139 and is tied for 12th. The senior tied his Colonial career low with a 1-under 68, which included a stretch of 3-under par through 11 holes.
Aymeric Laussot shot even-par 70 in the first round, but a 6-over 76 in the second. He's tied for 64th at 6-over 146.
In a tournament that features 13 top 25 teams, including seven ranked inside the top 10, the Horned Frogs are tied with Georgia Tech for 10th at 10-over 570. North Carolina leads the tournament at 10-under 550.
TCU will tee off at 8 a.m. off hole No. 10 and is paired with Georgia, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.
