HOCKLEY, Texas – TCU men's golf defeated fifth-seeded Kansas State and ninth-seeded Iowa State Tuesday in the second day of the Big 12 Match Play Tournament on Monday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks.
The Horned Frogs began the day finishing Monday's match against Texas. Jacob Olesen fell to Keaton Vo 2&1 and TCU tied with Texas, 3-3-0.
The day continued with a match against Iowa State that TCU won 4-1-1. Brandon Massey, Ethan Dial, Chris Berzina, Gustaf Frimodt joined Olesen in the win column.
The afternoon session resulted in a 3-2-1 win over No. 18 nationally ranked Kansas State. Massey and Olesen picked up their second wins of the day and Brent Hamm also won his match.
TCU is tied with Texas Tech for first place in Pool A with seven points. The Horned Frogs won't play in Wednesday's morning session. The afternoon session is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Matches will be played based on where each team is at in the pool standings.
