A record 8,412 was on hand at Schollmaier Arena
FORT WORTH - With a record crowd on hand at Schollmaier Arena, the TCU men's basketball team fell to Texas, 73-50, on Tuesday.
Led by a record 3,594 TCU students, an announced crowd of 8,412 was on hand for the 185th meeting between the Horned Frogs (13-4, 3-3) and the Longhorns (15-5, 5-3). It was the most to ever see a TCU home basketball game.
A turnaround jumper by Micah Peavy gave TCU an 8-7 lead nearly four minutes into the game, but that was the last time the Frogs had the advantage. With an 8-of-18 effort from 3-point range and just 10 turnovers, Texas expanded its lead throughout the game.
One of the top rebounding teams in the nation, TCU was beaten on the boards, 41-31, and surrendered 15 offensive rebounds to the Longhorns.
Mike Miles led the Frogs with 14 points, his best output in four games. Emanuel Miller had 13 points and a career-high five blocked shots.
Texas had four in double-figures, led by Timmy Allen with 16 points.
TCU continues its homestand with an 11 a.m. game against No. 19 LSU on Saturday on ESPN2.
