
TCU Improves on Final Day at Pebble Beach

Fort Worth native Chris Berzina finishes in the top 15
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – TCU's men's golf team had its best round of the Carmel Cup in the final round on Sunday at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Horned Frogs shot 8-under 352, the third best round of the day. Competing against six of the top 15 teams in the nation, the Horned Frogs finished in eighth place at 15-over 1095. No. 2 Oklahoma State (-18) won the tournament by one stroke over No. 7 Oklahoma (-17).
Fort Worth's Chris Berzina led TCU with an overall score of 2-under 214 and a tie for 14th place. On Sunday, he had his second round under par, finishing 1-under 71.
Junior Gustav Frimodt repeated Saturday's performance with a score of even-par 72. He finished tied for 31st with a score of 3-over 219.
Sophomore Brandon Massey followed Saturday's 70 with a 2-over 74. The Fort Worth native finished tied for 36th at 5-over 221.
Senior transfer Jan Schneider had his best round as a Horned Frog on Sunday, shooting 3-under 69. He finished in a tie for 38th at 6-over 222.
Another transfer, junior Brent Hamm from Troy, also finished with his best round, shooting 1-over 73 and finished in 43rd place at 10-over 226.
Junior Caden Christopherson tied for the best round of the 48-person field on Sunday. The Chandler, Ariz. native shot a career-best 5-under 67. An eagle on the par 5 No. 6 hole helped Christopherson shoot 3-under 33 on the front nine. He had another eagle on the back nine, on the par 5 No. 14 hole. Christopherson finished in 44th place at 11-over 227.
TCU will next be in action Sept. 13-15 at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, located north of Dallas.
