TCU to begin round two at 9:10 a.m. CT on Saturday

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – TCU opened the 2021-22 season with the Carmel Cup on Friday and is in eighth place after the first round at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Competing against six of the top 15 teams in the nation, the Horned Frogs shot 18-over 378 on the day. No. 14 Georgia shot 5-under 355 to grab the lead.

Fort Worth's Chris Berzina had the best round of the day for TCU. The junior made just three bogeys to shoot 1-over 73 and is tied for 20^th.

Junior Gustav Frimodt was 3-under through six holes and shot a 33 for the front nine. However, a 6-over 42 on the back nine moved Frimodt to 3-over 75 for the round. He is tied for 38^th place.

There were two that made their TCU debut. Washington transfer Jan Schneider is in 41^st place after shooting 4-over 76. Brent Hamm transferred from Troy and shot 5-over 77 to finish the first round tied for 42^nd place.

The Horned Frogs will begin the second round on Saturday at 9:10 a.m. CT.
