Goodrich Served as Assistant Coach for Two Years
FORT WORTH – Scott Goodrich has been promoted to associate coach of the TCU swimming & diving programs, head coach James Winchester announced.
"I'm excited to continue to work with our team and continue the process that we've started, especially since I came on two years ago," Goodrich said. "We've made great strides in that time, especially since James has been here. The culture in the team has grown and he's done such a wonderful job. Having the opportunity to continue to grow my career, to continue to be a part of the TCU family and to keep working towards the goals that we set out is what I'm most excited about."
Goodrich is entering his third season with the team. In the past two years as an assistant coach, he helped the men's and women's teams earn back-to-back third-place finishes at the Big 12 Championships. Primarily, Goodrich works with TCU's sprinters.
Prior to his time with the Horned Frogs, Goodrich worked as the lead site coach for South Scottsdale at the Scottsdale Aquatic Club. He also coached two-time Brazilian Olympian Cesar Cielo, who won both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly at the FINA World Championships.
Goodrich was a four-time NCAA champion during his time as a student-athlete at Auburn. He qualified for the US Olympic Team Trials in both 2004 and 2008.
"I am so pleased to announce Scott's promotion to associate head coach," Winchester said. "He is a fantastic technician with a deep knowledge base for our sport, who has had such a positive impact on the development of our student athletes. He has made an immediate and direct impact with our sprinters and within our recruitment, helping to bring the best recruiting class in TCU history.
"Scott has proven over our time together his commitment to building the tradition of excellence within this program. It is a privilege to work alongside him every day and I look forward to continuing the great momentum our group has created."
