Krob fans a career-high 13 batters
The Rundown
After allowing two runs in the first inning, Austin Krob settled in and turned in a career performance. He fanned 13 over eight innings and surrendered four runs on seven hits.
Krob had a stretch of 10 straight retired from the second through fifth. In the sixth, the lefty got an inning-ending double play with runners on the corners to end the inning, keeping it a 2-1 ballgame.
Brayden Taylor cut the deficit in half in the first with a two out home run. The game stayed 2-1 until the seventh when TCU struck for six runs.
Porter Brown singled to open the frame and back-to-back walks to Zach Humphreys and Taylor loaded the bases. Hunter Wolfe gave the Frogs a 3-2 lead with a base hit. Gray Rodgers lined a two out single into center for a 5-2 lead. Luke Boyers capped the scoring with a two run home run for a 7-2 advantage.
Five more runs crossed the plate in the eighth, all coming with two outs. Phillip Sikes singled home two runs. Elijah Nunez doubled home a run and Tommy Sacco gave the Frogs a 10-run lead with a two run single.
McNeese scored two runs in the ninth, but Harrison Beethe got a ground out to end the game.

With the win, TCU is now 41-17 on the season. The Horned Frogs will advance in the winner's bracket and will face the region's three seed, Dallas Baptist. Russell Smith will get the start for the Frogs. First pitch against the Patriots is set for 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN3.
