DBU rallies from four down to win
The Rundown
A lead-off walk in the seventh set the stage for Dallas Baptist as it scored five runs to take a 7-6 lead. The big blow was a bases-loaded double from Christian Boulware that put the Patriots on top. An unearned run in the ninth gave DBU an insurance run.
The Patriots opened up a 2-0 lead in the second. Ryan Wrobleski and River Town each drove in a run in the frame.
TCU stormed back in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead. With two on, Hunter Wolfe launched a three run shot into the TCU bullpen for the lead. Brayden Taylor's second home run of the regional in the sixth made it a 4-2 ballgame.
Two more runs came home for the Frogs in the seventh. Zach Humphreys drew a two-out bases loaded walk and Brayden Taylor singled to push it to 6-2.
Russell Smith started and went five innings. He allowed two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out eight. River Ridings (3-2) was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit. He walked a batter.
