Goodloe hits second home run of the year
FORT WORTH – No. 3 TCU fell into an early hole and dropped a 9-3 decision to No. 6 Texas in the rubber match of a three game series Sunday at Lupton Stadium. Bobby Goodloe provided the offense for the Horned Frogs with a pinch-hit three run home run in the ninth.
The Rundown
Texas homered in each of the first three innings in building a 4-0 lead. Zach Zubia had two of the three home runs, accounting for two runs.
Trailing 3-0 in the second, TCU looked poised for a big inning as it got the first two base runners on via an error and a walk, but the first of three double plays hit into by the Frogs squelched the rally.
Texas added a single run in the fifth and four more in the sixth to extend its lead to 9-0.
TCU had one-out base runners in the sixth and seventh erased on double plays. The first two reached in the eight, but again, Texas was able to work out of the jam to keep TCU off the board.
In the ninth, TCU avoided the shutout as it picked up three runs on a Bobby Goodloe pinch hit three run home run.
Johnny Ray (5-2) started and took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings. Garrett Wright tossed two scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit and one walk. Jacob Meador fanned four in 1 2/3 innings.

5 – Bobby Goodloe's home run was the second of his career. Both have been of the pinch-hit variety. It was TCU's fifth of the season.
