Sikes hits ninth home run of the season
The Rundown
ULM opened up a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but TCU battled back to get within a run in the bottom of the inning. Brayden Taylor drove in the first run of the frame and Conner Shepherd made it a 3-2 game with a sacrifice fly.
The Warhawks opened up a seven run lead, 9-2, with six runs over the next innings.
TCU took advantage of an error to score four unearned runs in the fourth. Zach Humphreys doubled home Tommy Sacco and Phillip Sikes hit a three-run home run to make it a 9-6 ballgame.
The Frogs picked up two more runs in the fifth to pull within one, 9-8. Humphreys drove in the first run of the inning and scored on a wild pitch.
A four spot by the Warhawks in the sixth pushed their lead back to five, 13-8. Porter Brown drove in a run in the seventh to account for the final score.
Austin Krob (7-1) took the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits. He walked one and struck out two. Charles King and Marcelo Perez each pitched four innings of relief. They combined to allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and struck out 11.
