
Frogs, Celli Finish Second at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Olesen also finishes in top 10
CHANDLER, Ariz. – TCU finished with its lowest score in two seasons and finished second at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic Tuesday, held at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.
The Horned Frogs saved their best round for last as they shot 17-under 271, the lowest final round score of any of the 23 teams. It was TCU's best 18-hole performance since going 21-under 267 in the opening round of the Tiger Invitational on April 8, 2019.
Four of the five Frogs shot under par in the final round, which helped the team shoot 27-under 837 for the tournament, their best since a 40-under 824 at the Tiger Invitational.
One day after becoming the 11th different Horned Frog ever to shoot 7-under 65, Filippo Celli put together a final round score of 6-under Stefano Mazzoli was 17-under 199 at the Tiger Invitational.
Celli played a bogey-free round with six birdies and finished with a team-best 16 birdies for the tournament. The freshman tied with two others for second place. All three finished two strokes back from event winner Barclay Brown (-14) of Stanford.
Sophomore Jacob Skov Olesen finished in the top 10 for the second time this season. He was 10th with a career-best score of 7-under 209. His 5-under 67 in Tuesday's final round was also the best of his career.
Sophomore Aymeric Laussot finished just outside the top 10 in 11th place. Like Olesen, all three of his rounds were under par. Laussot's overall score of 6-under 210 was also a career high.
Sophomore Mateo Fernández de Oliveira's final round of 4-under 68 was his best of the tournament. He tied a season-best with a 54-hole score of 2-under 214.
The Horned Frogs return to action April 16-17 at the Thunderbird Collegiate at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.
