
TCU Dominates Second Half, Advances to Sweet 16

A barrage of goals gives Horned Frogs come-from-behind win over Lobos
WILSON, N.C. – With four second-half goals in under six minutes, No. 4-seed TCU powered its way to a 6-2 win over New Mexico Friday at the J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Five different Horned Frogs scored and Yazmeen Ryan tied the school record for career assists as TCU advanced to its first-ever Sweet 16.
The Rundown
New Mexico (11-2-0) controlled the game early on and scored the game's first goal in the 28th minute. The Horned Frogs outshot the Lobos 10-8 in the first half, but had just two shots on goal and trailed 1-0 at the break.
Just 88 seconds into the second half, TCU tied it on a goal by Messiah Bright, her third of the season. Gracie Brian had the assist. Less than a minute later, Grace Collins scored the go-ahead goal on a pass by Ryan. Collins scored her second goal of the game less than three minutes after her first to put the Frogs ahead 3-1.
It took 36 seconds for TCU to score its next goal by Payton Crews. Ryan had the assist, the 22nd of her career, which tied the program record.
In just her seventh-career game, freshman Avery Barron scored her first-career goal in the 74th minute to put the Frogs ahead 5-1.
Maddy Warren had TCU's sixth goal of the match, coming in the 79th minute and assisted by Tatum Condrey, her first of the season.
