Henry, Nunez and Rodgers homer for TCU
The Rundown
Texas Tech took a 1-0 lead on a two-out home run in the first. Two more runs in the second followed as the Red Raiders took advantage of two walks and a hit batter to open up a 3-0 lead.
Elijah Nunez's first career home run in the third made it a 3-1 ballgame, but Texas Tech answered with a four spot in the bottom of the inning for a 7-1 advantage.
TCU looked to be getting back in to the game in the fifth as it struck for four two-out runs. Hunter Wolfe singled in the first run of the inning and Gray Rodgers followed with a three run home run to make it an 8-5 game.
But the rally was not to be as the Red Raiders sent 12 men to the plate and scored nine times to open up a 17-5 lead in the sixth.
Austin Henry hit a pinch hit two run home run in the seventh to account for the final score.
Johnny Ray (2-2) took the loss after allowing six runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out three.
