Earning the honor were Kevin Chao (Swimming and Diving), Noelle Christensen (Rifle), Tatum Condrey (Soccer), Evelyn Mandel (Cross Country), Emma Schmidt (Basketball) and Wynn Weatherly (Equestrian).
Chao, a senior from Irvine, Calif., has served as a captain each of the last two seasons. He was named the 2020 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He also climbed TCU's all-time records for his performances in the pool. He sits eighth all-time in 1000 free (9:38.39), ninth all-time in the 1650 free (15:41.13) and 10th in the 400 IM (3:56.80).
Chao is a biology major and a two-time member of the Academic All-Big 12 Team (2019, 2020).

Christensen, a junior geology major, earned CRCA Scholastic All-American honors as well as being named Academic All-Big 12 in 2020.
Condrey, a junior midfielder and speech language pathology major from Missouri City, Texas, is the second recipient of the Lage Award from the TCU women's soccer program (Lauren Sajewich, 2015).
A 2019 first-team Academic All-Big 12 performer, Condrey has appeared in 23 games. She has tallied two career goals and registered two assists.
Mandel, a senior nursing major from Temecula, Calif., was recognized for her academic achievements in 2020, earning a spot on the 2020 Academic All-Big 12 Cross Country Team.
At the 2020 Big 12 Championship, she finished first for the Frogs in the women's 6K with a time of 23:47.0.
Schmidt saw minutes in games this season against Incarnate Word, Central Arkansas, Lamar University and Oklahoma.
The senior from Waukee, Iowa is studying math-actuarial science.
Weatherly becomes the sixth Horned Frog equestrienne to earn the Lage Award, joining Laska Anderson (2019), Kari Hancock (2017), Erin Gillette (2016), Kelsi Schatz (2014) and Emily Maloof (2013).
The junior has three academic awards under her belt already. She is a two-time honoree from the Big 12 and was an NCEA All-Academic First Teamer last season.
In order to be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their career while maintaining residence at their institution for at least one academic year. The honoree, which can only be recognized once, should have 100 hours of earned credit with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.80 at the time of the nomination.
The award is in memory of Lage, who served as the Oklahoma State faculty athletics representative with the NCAA and the Big Eight/Big 12 Conference from 1983 until his death in 2007. He was the chairman on three occasions (1985-86,93-94 and 2003-04).
The Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award recipient's names will be featured on the video board at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Basketball Championships, scheduled for March 10-13 at the T-Mobile Center and March 11-14 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
