TCU volleyball opens the 2021 spring season at Tarleton
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball begins its 12-match spring schedule with a trip to Stephenville, Texas to take on Tarleton on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. This is TCU's first match since Nov. 21 and the first-ever meeting between the Horned Frogs and Texans.

Frog Focus
- TCU is playing in its first spring match in program history after playing in 10 matches in the fall of 2020.
- This will be the Horned Frogs non-conference season opener after playing all 10 fall matches against Big 12 opponents.
- TCU is 15-9 all-time in non-conference season openers, including a current five match winning streak
- The Horned Frogs are a perfect 5-0 in the first non-conference match of the season in the Jill Kramer era.
- Sophomore Julia Adams enters the spring averaging 3.72 kills/set, the second highest average by any Horned Frog in the past 10 seasons.
- Adams is currently on track for the 11th most kills/set in a single season in program history.
- Sophomore setter McKenzie Nichols returns after posting 10.26 assists/set in the fall, the second-best average in the Big 12.
- Sophomore Afedo Manyang emerged as one of the top offensive options for TCU in the fall. The Fort Worth product posted 95 kills in 33 sets (2.88 kills/set).
- She is just nine kills away from tying her total output from the 2019 season (104 kills). Manyang needed 20 matches to reach 104 kills last season, she has already reached 95 in just eight appearances in her sophomore campaign.

- Senior Dani Dennison has been one of the most dependable players on the roster throughout her career.
- She has played in all 103 of TCU's matches over her college career, starting a majority at libero.
- Dennison has reached 1,221 digs, the fifth most in program history and just six shy of tying Sutton Sunstrum for 4th all-time.
- With 12 matches on the Frogs' spring schedule, Dennison needs to average 17.6 digs per match to tie Calli Corley for the program record.
- She is second in the conference with 4.29 digs/set.
- She leads the team with 176 digs through 10 matches. Dennison is on track to become the first player in program history to lead TCU in digs three times over the course of her career.
- She recorded 20+ digs three times in the fall, matching her total from the last two seasons combined.

Scouting the Opponent: Tarleton
- Tarleton enters the weekend in the midst of its 2021 spring season. The Texans did not play in the fall.
- Tarleton currently holds a 5-7 record with a match scheduled for tonight, against Prairie View A&M.
- The Texans are led by Granbury native Amber Strange. The senior has posted double-digit kills in 11 of Tarleton's 12 matches this season and leads the team with 3.4 kills/set.
- Tarleton boasts a strong presense on the defensive end as well. It's junior libero, Ana Costas has posted 5.33 digs/set in her last six matches.
- This is the first season playing in Division 1 for the Texans. The athletic program made the transition to the top-flight of collegiate athletics this season. They are playing as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
- This is the first-ever meeting between Tarleton and TCU.
