TCU Falls at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – TCU Volleyball lost a three-set match against Texas Tech on Saturday evening inside United Supermarkets Arena. Senior Dani Dennison recorded her 1,500th career dig in the defeat.
TCU NOTABLES:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (TTU, 26-24): TCU jumped in front 7-1 thanks to a pair of kills from Raiola. But Texas Tech answered with a 4-0 run to make the score more manageable, 7-5. TCU stayed in front for a while before Texas Tech eventually tied the score, 21-21. An attacking error allowed Tech its first lead of the set, 23-22, before two more TCU errors allowed TTU to take the set by two points. Four Frogs made three or more kills in the opening set, led by four from Raiola. Zoe Hall, Mykayla Myers and Afedo Manyang each added three as Dennison led the back row with five digs.
Set 2 (TTU, 25-18): The Red Raider went on a 12-4 run to close out the set after TCU had taken a 14-13 lead. TCU couldn't find a way to terminate the ball in the later stages of the set as Texas Tech out-dug the Horned Frogs 18-9.
Set 3 (TTU, 25-11): Errors allowed for long TTU scoring runs. Tech won the set by 14 points.
UP NEXT:
The Horned Frogs (8-12, 2-8) return to Fort Worth for a series against No. 10 Baylor (14-5, 8-2) next weekend, Nov. 12-13. Both matches will begin at 6:30 p.m. inside Schollmaier Arena.

TCU NOTABLES:
- Senior Dani Dennison led the team with 10 digs, improving her career total to 1,509 – the most in program history.
- She becomes the 38th active player in the nation with 1,500 career digs.
- This was Dennison's 76th career double-digit dig match and her seventh this season.
- Junior Alexcis Lusby played a part in all three TCU blocks tonight. It was her first 3+ block performance as a Horned Frog.
- Junior MyKayla Myers led the Frogs with a .308 hitting percentage tonight, marking her 19th career .300+ performance.
- With four kills tonight, Myers matches her output from last season with 154 kills, while playing five fewer sets.
- She has hit over .300 in back-to-back conference matches for the first time this season and fourth time in her career.
- McKenzie Nichols and Alyssa Heist split the setting duties tonight. Nichols finished with 16 while Heist added seven.
- Sophomore Taylor Raiola served two service aces – her second career multi-ace match.
