Jamie Dixon earns win No. 100 as TCU's head coach

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - A stout rebounding effort, led by Emanuel Miller, helped the TCU men's basketball team defeat Pepperdine, 73-64, Wednesday in the SoCal Challenge.

Miller finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Six of his 10 boards were on the offensive end for TCU, which outrebounded Pepperdine 38-22. Mike Miles scored a team-high 16 points. Chuck O'Bannon rounded out the double-digit scorers with a season-high 12 points.

TCU (4-1) trailed most of the first half but took advantage of a span of nearly five minutes, where Pepperdine (2-5) was held without a basket. The Horned Frogs finished the half on a 21-7 run and led 32-27 at the break.

In the second half, TCU never led by less than seven points, until late in the game. A Pepperdine free throw made it a three-point game with 8:30 to play. Key buckets by Damion Baugh, JaKobe Coles, Miles and Miller down the stretch helped secure the win and Jamie Dixon his 100th victory as a TCU head coach.

TCU returns home to face Austin Peay on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

TCU outrebounded Pepperdine 38-22. TCU is 3-0 this season and 84-26 under Dixon when outrebounding its opponent.
TCU won the tip for the first time this season. Eddie Lampkin jumped at center for the Frogs.
TCU outshot Pepperdine from the field, 50.0 percent to 43.6 percent. The Horned Frogs improved to 4-0 this season and 87-20 under Dixon when outshooting their opponent.
TCU improved to 11-2 in midseason tournaments under Dixon.
Since 2014-15, the Frogs have gone 41-5 in the month of November
Under Dixon (since 2016-17), TCU has gone 55-10 in November and December.

Individual Notes

Chuck O'Bannon scored a season-high 12 points.
Damion Baugh played for the first time since the season opener after missing three games with an ankle injury. He finished with eight points, three rebounds and three assists.
Emanuel Miller finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and the 11th of his career.
Mike Miles scored in double figures for the fifth game this season. He finished with a team-high 16 points.
Maxwell Evans earned his first start as a Horned Frog. Miles, Miller, Micah Peavy and Eddie Lampkin joined Evans as starters, the fourth different lineup for TCU this season.
Jamie Dixon recorded his 100th win as TCU's head coach. He improved his TCU record to 100-72. Out of the 22 head coaches to lead the Horned Frogs, he's the third fastest to reach 100 wins at TCU.
