
Frogs in Sixth after First Day at Colonial

TCU begins the final round at 8 a.m.
FORT WORTH – TCU finished the first day at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational in a tie for sixth place Monday at Colonial Country Club.
The Horned Frogs were tied for third place following the first round after shooting 3-uner 277. Higher temperatures and windier conditions than the morning made for higher scores for all, but two teams during the afternoon. TCU shot 14-over 294 for a total score of 11-over 571, which tied the Frogs with No. 6 Texas. Defending national champion and No. 25-ranked Pepperdine (+1) leads the 15-team field.
Senior Justin Gums is in 12th place to lead TCU with a score of 1-over 141. Gums' first round was one of the best of his career as he shot 3-under 67.
Juniors Aymeric Laussot and Jacob Skov Olesen tied for 21st at 3-over 143. Olesen shot 1-under 69 in the first round.
Paired with Florida and No. 19 Georgia, TCU will begin the final round on Tuesday at 8 a.m. off the No. 1 tee.
