Freri Shatters Two School Records in Final Day of USC Invitational

Freri, Silins each pick up multiple NCAA B cuts

LOS ANGELES – Multiple athletes notched NCAA B cuts and Geremia Freri broke two school records at the second day of the USC Invitational.
Freri won the 1650 freestyle and broke the school record with a time of 15:04.35, shattering the previous record of 15:23.38 that was set in 2012 by Michael Franz. His 1000 yard split of 9:08.94 also set a new school record. The previous record of 9:15.77 was also set by Franz in 2012.
He almost had three school records on the day as his time of 3:49.52 in the 400 IM was good for first and was just .03 off the school record, which is currently held by Carlos Hunnicut. He now has three B cuts after notching one in the 500 freestyle Friday.
Freri also is now 10th on TCU's all-time records list as he swam a 1:38.26 in the 200 freestyle.
Also securing a B cut was Janis Silins as his time of 53.90 was good for fourth in the 100 breaststroke. He later notched a B cut in the 200 breaststroke with his time of 1:58.07.
Piotr Sadlowski notched a B cut in the 100 butterfly with his time of 47.35, which was good for second overall.
Making TCU's Top 10 list was the 200 freestyle relay team of Noah Cumby, Jadon Wuilliez, Raphael Paiva Da Lima and Sadlowski. The squad is now fourth on the all-time list with their time of 1:20.77.
The 200 medley relay team also had a strong showing and placed third overall. Stefan Varga, Silins, Sadlowski and Paiva's time of 1:28.06 is now third on TCU's all-time list.
Also notching a Top 10 time was Wuilliez, as his time of 54.38 in the 100 breaststroke puts him fifth on TCU's all-time list. Milan Fabian had a stellar showing in the 1650 freestyle and is now third in TCU's Top 10.
On the women's side, Claire Chahbandour is now third on TCU's Top 10 list with her time of 1:02.26 in the 100 breaststroke.
In the 200 medley relay, the A team of Rylee Moore, Sheridan Schreiber, Jeanne Dahmen and Olivia Rhodes swam a time of 1:41.68, placing them fifth in program history. Following right behind them, Marlene Hirschberg, Chahbandour, Megan Morris and Cassidy Coughlin notched a time of 1:42.70, making them ninth on TCU's all-time list.
Moore had another stellar showing in the 200 backstroke as her time of 1:59.67 is now sixth on TCU's Top 10 list.
