TCU's Men Earn Big Win over SMU on Senior Day

Freri breaks own school record in 1000 freestyle

FORT WORTH – The TCU men's team picked up a huge win over SMU on Senior Day, defeating the Mustangs 176-124, while the women's team fell 177-123.
Geremia Freri broke his own school record in the 1000 freestyle, which was originally set two weeks ago at the USC Invitational. The first-year swam a 9:07.96, breaking his own record by .98 seconds and getting the win.
Swimming closely behind him was Milan Fabian, whose time of 9:11.27 was good for second. He is now second on TCU's all-time records list.
Freri's second win of the day came in the 500 freestyle with his time of 4:28.25. Fabian picked up the second-place finish with a time of 4:28.96.
Freri also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:48.49, moving him into 10th on TCU's all-time records list.
Piotr Sadlowski won three events on the day as he won the 100 and 200 butterfly. He also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team of him, Janis Silins, Stefan Varga and Raphael Paiva Da Lima swam a 1:28.23. Sadlowski also picked up three wins against SMU in 2020 when he won the 100 butterfly and the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Noah Cumby made the most of his Senior Day as he won the 100 and 200 freestyle with times of 44.35 and 1:39.15, respectively.
Luke DiMiceli placed second in the 200 backstroke and is now 10th on TCU's all-time records list.
David Ekdahl won both 1-meter and 3-meter with scores of 337.72 and 347.55, respectively.
On the women's side, the team got off to a hot start when the squad of Rylee Moore, Sheridan Schreiber, Megan Morris and Olivia Rhodes took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.90.
Emma Hultquist continued to shine in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.94. It's her third win in the 200 freestyle this season.
A trio of rookies picked up three wins for TCU as Rylee Moore, Claire Chahbandour and Olivia Rhodes each won their respective events. Moore took first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.20, Chahbandour won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.19 and Rhodes notched the win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.49.
On the boards, Connie Deighton secured a Zone cut with a score of 283.50 on 3-meter and 266.17 on 1-meter.
