The Horned Frogs collect their biggest road win since 2018
FORT WORTH – No. 3 TCU men's tennis (4-0) won four singles matches to defeat No. 6 Baylor (6-1) by a final score of 4-1 on Sunday evening at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. It is the highest ranked-opponent the Horned Frogs have beaten since taking down No. 3 Mississippi State (2019) and the best true road victory since taking down No. 6 Texas A&M in 2018.
"Obviously a great win for the men on our squad," head coach David Roditi said. "Baylor is one of the best and most experienced teams in the whole country, so to beat them, in Waco, after dropping the doubles point speaks volumes of our player's character, resilience and belief. Great performances at the top of the lineup with Fomba, Gray and Jong and a gutsy comeback for Teddy at five. I was very proud of Juan Martín and Jirousek for continuing to battle when all the attention was on the other courts. I do want to thank the support we got from some other student athletes and fans. Now we need to recoup and take care of our bodies so we are ready for a tough road trip at Miss St and Ole Miss this weekend. Baylor hospitality was the best it has ever been and we are very thankful for it. GoFrogs!!"
TCU has now won 13 consecutive dual matches dating back to last season. It has been 352 days since TCU's last defeat.
