Laussot Leads Frogs to Fourth Place Finish at Colonial

Frogs finish tied for fourth in season opener
FORT WORTH – Sophomore Aymeric Laussot fired a career-best 4-under 66 in the final round of the Colonial Collegiate Invitational Tuesday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
In a field featuring all 10 Big 12 teams, which included eight players ranked in the top 40 in the world, Laussot finished in ninth place with a score of 2-over 212. Starting on hole No. 10, the Paris, France native had five birdies on Tuesday. He had three on the second nine, including a chip-in on No. 8 for a nine-hole score of 3-under 32.
Laussot's 4-under 66 wasn't just his collegiate best for vs. par and total score, but it tied for the second lowest of the day. Tournament winner Logan McAllister of Oklahoma also shot a 66 and Texas Tech's Andy Lopez shot a 65. McAllister finished with an overall score of 3-under 207 to win by two strokes over three players. He helped Oklahoma (-5) win the team title by six strokes over Texas (+1).
TCU shot 6-over 286 and moved up three spots from Monday to finish tied for fourth with Baylor and Kansas with an overall score of 23-over 863.
Newcomer Spencer Ball finished tied for 19th at 6-over 216 after shooting 2-over 72. Sophomore Jacob Skov Olesen began the day two shots out of the lead, but finished tied for 24 at 13-over 223.
The Frogs will begin the Big 12 Match Play Tournament Friday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
