Frogs will begin play at 8 a.m. on Friday
FORT WORTH – TCU will continue a busy season-opening week when it participates in the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, beginning Friday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
With seeding decided on the final results of Colonial Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday, the Frogs earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Baylor at 8 a.m. on Friday. TCU will play No. 8 seed West Virginia at 1:30 p.m. later that day. The Frogs will face No. 9 Iowa State Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
On Sunday, TCU will play No. 1 Oklahoma at 8 a.m. At the conclusion of pool play, each team will be ranked 1-5 within their pool based on the amount of points accrued.
The championship match will feature the team with the highest point total from Pool A with the team with the highest point total from pool B. The third-place match will be between the teams with the second highest point totals from their respective pools. Each team will participate during the championship afternoon with the exception of the fifth-place team from Pool A, since there are only nine teams participating.
Each team will play six with the Frogs playing the same lineup as they did at Colonial with sophomore Chris Berzina, senior Spencer Ball, sophomore Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, sophomore Gustav Frimodt, sophomore Aymeric Laussot and sophomore Jacob Skov Olesen.

The Clubs at Houston Oaks opened in 2017. The name comes from an abundance of large oak trees that the course winds among, many of which are over 200 years old.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU finished tied with Baylor and Kansas for fourth at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. TCU shot 6-over 286 in the final round to move to an overall score of 23-over 863.
NOTES
- Two seasons ago, TCU finished fifth at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, defeating Kansas State, Texas Tech and West Virginia and earned a tie with Oklahoma State. The Frogs went 0-5 last season. The match play tournament began during the 2018-19 season to give Big 12 teams experience with the format that decides the NCAA National Champion.
- Berzina, Fernández de Oliveira, Frimodt and Laussot played in match play last season as freshmen.
- Laussot was named TCU's Student-Athlete of the Week after firing a career-best 4-under 66 in the final round of the Colonial Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. He finished in ninth place.
