Frogs begin Tuesday at 8:21 a.m.
FORT WORTH – Newcomer Jacob Skov Olesen led the Frogs over 36 holes Monday at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club.
The transfer from Ranger College shot bogey-free 2-under 68 in the first round in his TCU debut. He shot 3-over 73 in the second round for a score of 1-over 141.
Olesen is tied for ninth, but just two shots out of first place. Four players are tied atop the leaderboard, including Quade Cummins, who was helped lead Oklahoma to a first-place lead. OU is one of four teams in the field of all Big 12 schools who ended last season ranked in the top 10 nationally.
A cool morning turned into a sunny but windy afternoon in Fort Worth. Those conditions led to higher scores in round two for all the Horned Frogs except Aymeric Laussot. The Denmark native shot 2-over 72 to lead TCU in the second round and is tied for 20th at 4-over 144.
The Frogs were tied for second after the first round, but like many teams, struggled in the second round and is in seventh place at 17-over 577.
TCU will begin the third and final round at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday on hole No. 10. The tournament is closed to spectators due to COVID-19 precautions.
