Christopherson Leads Frogs in First Round

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Freshman Caden Christopherson had TCU's best round of the day and finished the first round tied for eighth at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Friday at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.

Competing as an individual, Christopherson made five birdies and shot a career-best 3-under 69. The Chandler, Ariz., native had a front nine of 2-under 34 and a back nine of 1-under 34. Oregon's Tom Gueant leads the tournament at 8-over 64.

Of those competing for the TCU team, freshman Aymeric Laussot led the Frogs with a score of 2-under 70, with the help of six birdies, and is tied for 14^th place.

Freshman Mateo Fernández de Oliveira was the final Horned Frog under par after shooting 1-under 71 and tied for 20^th place.

The Frogs are in 10^th place after shooting 4-over 292, 14 shots from the leader, Oregon.
