TCU looks to climb conference standings
FORT WORTH – In the second of a three-conference meet stretch, the sixth-ranked TCU equestrian team will hit the road and travel to No. 2 Oklahoma State. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, beginning at 10 a.m. at Totusek Arena.
DIRECTOR OF EQUESTRIAN HALEY SCHOOLFIELD
"We are very much looking forward to getting on the road to face Oklahoma State. OSU is always a formidable opponent and a challenge on their own turf. One of my favorite Frogs Factors is that we never back down from a challenge. We are strong, capable and ready for the battle."
ALL-TIME SERIES
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 18-9 following its 10-9 win at TCU on Nov. 8. The Cowgirls are on a three-meet win streak going into the match and are 8-1 when facing the Frogs in Stillwater.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
The Frogs have begun the spring dominant on the Western side with an aggregate total of 17-3 against opponents thus far. TCU has also won nine Most Outstanding Performer honors in its last three contests. TCU moved up a spot in the rankings this week after its 12-8 win over Baylor last Friday. TCU is also facing its fifth top-5 and eighth ranked opponent overall this season.
Junior Raegan Rast, who leads the team in single-event wins with nine, was named the TCU standout student-athlete of the week this week after winning points both in Flat and Fences and taking home the MOP in Fences competition.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Oklahoma State will be competing at home for the first time in the spring. The Cowgirls are coming off a 13-5 defeat to No. 7 SMU last week in Dallas. OSU remained at No. 2 in the NCEA rankings this week despite the loss. Oklahoma State is 3-0 this season at Totusek Arena and has won eight-straight at home with its last loss coming against Auburn on Feb. 3, 2018.
Three OSU riders are putting together solid seasons as Harley Huff, Katie Schell and Emma Verplank have all put together seven wins so far. Huff is a winner of her last four rides.
