TCU defensive end tops all freshmen nationally in tackles for loss
CHICAGO -- TCU defensive end Khari Coleman has been added to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, presented annually to the nation's top defensive end.
A true freshman from New Orleans, Coleman tops all freshmen nationally with his team-high 9.5 tackles for loss. The total ranks third overall in the Big 12 and tied for 15th in the country.
Coleman has started the last six games and has at least one tackle for loss in five of those contests, including three with multiple TFLs. He had a career-best 3.5 tackles for loss, including a sack, against Oklahoma. He has two sacks on the season, a pair of quarterback hurries and 20 tackles.
TCU graduate and two-time consensus first-team All-American Jerry Hughes, currently playing for the Buffalo Bills, won the 2009 Ted Hendricks Award.
