
Ball Leads Frogs in Round 2 at Maridoe

CARROLLTON, Texas – Senior Spencer Ball led the TCU men's golf team Monday at the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.
The transfer from Mercer shot 1-over 73 and is tied for 28th place, up 12 from Sunday. Ball had three birdies to shoot 3-under on the front nine. On the par 3 No. 8 hole, he was close to his first hole-in-one when the ball rolled inches from the hole.
Junior Justin Gums matched Sunday's score of 6-over 78. He is tied for 46th place at 12-over 156. Sophomore Chris Berzina improved by four strokes from round one to shoot 6-over 78. He's tied for 56th at 16-over 160.
Despite temperatures in the 50s and light mist falling for most of the day, all team scores were lower than yesterday as the course yardage moved from 7,521 to 7,379.
TCU shot 22-over 310 and remains in 11th place at 54-over 630. Oklahoma State moved past Baylor for the lead at 16-over 592.
TCU will begin the final round Tuesday morning at 8:40 a.m. on the No. 10 hole.
