Nalls delivers sixth 10+ kill match of the season in loss
HOUTSON -- TCU volleyball (5-5) couldn't find the answer to Rice (11-1) Saturday afternoon, losing 3-0 inside Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston. Freshman outside hitter Audrey Nalls led the team with her sixth double-digit kill match of the year but the Horned Frogs come up short on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (Rice, 25-17): The Horned Frogs jumped out of the gates with a strong net presence from Manyang. The freshman put up two blocks in the first seven points to help TCU establish a 12-9 lead. The Owls turned things around with a 6-1 run fueled by their star Nicole Lennon. With the momentum in favor of Rice, the Owls closed out the set on top. Nalls led the team with three kills.
Set 2 (Rice, 25-18): Rice established a six-point lead early, 10-4, and battled to hold the Frogs at bay for the remainder of the set. TCU cut the lead to three points multiple times, but never closer as the Owls took the set by seven points.
Set 3 (Rice, 25-20): The Frogs came out with renewed energy after the set break. The TCU offense was clicking as the team was hitting .556 midway through the third (13-13). The breaking point came soon after as Rice went on a 5-1 scoring run to go ahead, 18-14. TCU fought until the end but it wasn't meant to be and Rice polished off its 11th win of the season.
