Frogs begin final round at 7 a.m.

SOUTH KENT, Conn. – TCU improved by 12 strokes from its first round at the Hartford Hawks Invitational and sits in third place with one round to go at Bull's Bridge Golf Club.

The Horned Frogs shot 3-over 288 in the first round and 9-under 279 in the second round on Monday. At 6-under 570, TCU trails UCF (-12) and Rider (-8).

Sophomore Justin Gums led the Frogs Monday with a first round of 1-over 73, followed by 5-under 67, which was a career best. The Lodi, Calif., native is tied for fifth place at 4-under 140. Jake Sollon of Rider and Wenliang Xie lead the tournament at 7-under 137.

Junior Thomas Allkins is in 12^th place after back-to-back rounds of 1-under 71 to finish 2-under 142 for the day.

Freshmen Mateo Fernández de Oliveira and Gustav Frimodt are tied for 22^nd place at even-par 144.

Competing as an individual, junior Trevor Brown shot 1-under 143 and is tied for 18^th place.
