FORT WORTH -- The TCU Horned Frogs volleyball team got the 2019 season started with the Purple and White Scrimmage on Saturday afternoon inside The Rickel. The match ended in a 2-2 tie after four sets as the fans got their first glimpse at the 2019 team.
"It was great to welcome our fans back into The Rickel and have our newcomers experience our unique game day atmosphere," head coach Jill Kramer said. "This was the chance for our newcomers to experience what a TCU game day is like and now, with this experience in our pocket, we're looking forward to starting the season next week."
This was the first game-like action for TCU's eight freshmen. The class handled the situation well, showing why they were ranked as the fifth-best signing class in the nation.
With the scrimmage in the rearview mirror, the Frogs set their sights on the season opener against High Point, this Friday, August 30, inside The Rickel. It will be the first of three matches TCU will play in as a part of the Cowtown Classic. The Frogs will play Lipscomb on Saturday (2 p.m.) before finishing against Villanova on Sunday (1 p.m.)
