TCU Hangs On for Win over OSU

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Desmond Bane's 3-pointer with 16.4 seconds remaining led eighth-seeded TCU to a 73-70 win over ninth-seeded Oklahoma State Wednesday in the first round of 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frogs (20-12), which led by as many as 21 points in the second half, trailed for the first time with 25 seconds to play after two free throws by OSU's Lindy Waters. Trailing 70-68, Bane drained his third 3-pointer of the game regain the lead, 71-70. Two free throws by Alex Robinson gave TCU a 73-70 lead with 0.9 seconds to play. Bane stole the ensuing inbounds pass to ensure TCU will play in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship for the fifth-straight year.
TCU jumped out to an 8-0 lead, behind two of Kouat Noi's four 3-pointers. Noi scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as the Frogs cruised to a 45-29 lead.
A free throw by Kevin Samuel gave TCU it's largest lead of the game, 53-32, with 16:29 to play. The Frogs led 68-54 with 6:53 to play and did not score again until Bane's heroic 3-pointer, a scoring drought of 6 minutes and 28 seconds.
