Bane, Robinson and Noi earn postseason honors
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU's Desmond Bane, Kouat Noi and Alex Robinson were all named All-Big 12 Conference on Sunday.
Bane joins former TCU players Vladimir Brodziansky (2017) and Kenrich Williams (2018) as the only Horned Frogs to earn All-Big 12 Second Team honors. The Richmond, Ind., native leads TCU and ranks fourth in the conference with 15.2 points per game. The junior guard ranks seventh in field goal percentage (49.7) and fifth in three-point percentage (40.5). Bane is coming off a career-high 34 points in TCU's win over Texas on Saturday, it was the seventh time this season he has scored 20 or more points. The all-conference honor is the first for Bane, who was named Big 12 Player of the Week earlier this season.
Robinson earned All-Big 12 Third Team honors after finishing the regular season as the conference leader in assists with 6.9 per game and ranking 11th with 12.7 points per game. He also had eight double-doubles on the season, seven with points and assists and one with points and rebounds. The senior from Fort Worth was a member of the preseason honorable mention all-conference team in the fall and was named to the All-Big 12 Newcomer Team as a sophomore in 2017.
Noi was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after ranking ninth in the conference with 14.1 points per game. The sophomore from Newcastle, Australia has been one of the best 3-point shooters in the conference this season. Noi's 2.4 made 3-pointers per game ranks second in the conference and his 37.1 percent shooting from beyond-the-arc ranks 11th. Noi's only other Big 12 accolades came earlier this season when we was named Big 12 Player of the Week.
The All-Big 12 awards were selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
The Horned Frogs will open the 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Oklahoma State at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
