TCU in Sixth after First Round in Hawaii

Ravetto Leads Frogs in Rd. 1
WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – TCU finished the first round of the Amer Ari Invitational tied for sixth place Thursday at the Waikoloa King's Course in Hawai'i.
Competing in another tough tournament that features five of the nation's top 16 teams, four Horned Frogs shot under par. Senior David Ravetto led the Frogs at 3-under 69 and is tied for 20th.
Alejandro Aguilera, Stefano Mazzoli and Hayden Springer each shot 2-under 70 and will begin Thursday's third round tied for 30th place. Mazzoli excelled early with an eagle on the par-5 No. 2 hole. Aguilera joined Ravetto in shooting a bogey-free back nine, while Springer shot par or better throughout the front nine.
Making his TCU debut and playing as an individual, freshman Justin Gums shot even-par 72.
TCU shot 9-under 279 and is tied with No. 16 Auburn for sixth place. No. 1 Oklahoma State leads the tournament after shooting 21-under 267.
The second round will begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. CT.
