Big 12 showdown concludes fall season
FORT WORTH, Texas – The sixth-ranked TCU equestrian program is set to host No. 3 Oklahoma State in the final meet of the fall season Friday, Nov. 8, at Diamond Creek Ranch. The action is slated to start at 10 a.m.
DIRECTOR OF EQUESTRIAN HALEY SCHOOLFIELD
"We've been practicing hard this week, getting ourselves and our horses prepared to close the fall season against Oklahoma State. We know we are capable as a team for the action, it is all just a matter of execution."
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU looks to rebound against the Cowgirls after falling on the road at Baylor last week. The Frogs come into action 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in Big 12 play.
The Frogs' success has been parallel with their ability to win the Jumping Seat discipline and more specifically, Fences. The Frogs are 4-0 when winning the event, but are 0-3 when dropping the event. In the one meet TCU tied in Fences, it won (5-3 vs. Sweet Briar).
Raegan Rast took home Big 12 Fences Rider of the Month honors during the week for her 5-0 month in which four victories came on unfamiliar horses.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Oklahoma State enters the action with a record of 4-2. The Cowgirls went 1-1 at Fresno State where it defeated UC Davis, but fell to the Bulldogs 14-5. The Cowgirls, who moved up to No. 3 in the NCEA team rankings this week, are 1-1 in true road competitions.
Abigail Brayman was named the Big 12 Flat rider of the month in October after she went 3-0 with two of those wins coming in conference play
ALL-TIME SERIES
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 17-9. The Frogs are 6-4 when facing the Cowgirls at home, however. The Cowgirls won the last two meetings, both of which were in Stillwater, but TCU won the last matchup at home, 11-8.
