
TCU Falls in Season Finale to WVU, 20-17

FORT WORTH – TCU saw its season come to a close with a 20-17 loss to West Virginia on Friday at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
With the game tied early in the second half, Jalen Reagor took a West Virginia punt 70 yards for a touchdown to give the Horned Frogs a 17-10 lead with 10:32 to play in the third quarter.
TCU maintained a 17-13 lead when West Virginia began a possession at its 39 with 4:47 to play in the game. After a pair of TCU penalties extended the Mountaineers' series, Jarett Doege found Isaiah Esdale from 35 yards out on a 2nd-and-10 with 2:10 left to play for the winning score.
The Horned Frogs were unable to convert on two final possessions, turning the ball over on downs.
After the Mountaineers took an early 7-0 lead, TCU evened the score with 5:16 left in the first quarter when Sewo Olonilua took a direct snap and scored from 2 yards out. The 75-yard drive was set up by a 64-yard carry by Taye Barber on the first play of the series.
The Horned Frogs would take their first lead of the game with a 30-yard field goal from Jonathan Song with 9:49 left to play in the second quarter, but WVU came back to tie it at the half on a 40-yard field goal from Evan Staley with 5:18 remaining in the first half.
TCU held West Virginia to 244 yards of offense, marking the sixth time in 12 games it limited an opponent to fewer than 300 yards.
