Duggan leads team in rushing for fourth straight game.

NORMAN, Okla. – TCU fought hard and nearly completed a major comeback before dropping a 28-24 decision at No. 9 Oklahoma on Saturday night in Norman, Okla.

After the Sooners scored on their opening three drives of the game, taking a 21-0 lead just 2:04 into the second quarter. The Horned Frogs battled back to within four points twice, the last time being 28-24 when Vernon Scott returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown with 12:43 to play.

The Horned Frogs then had two possessions with the potential to take the lead but were thwarted both times by the Sooners. The second and final chance came after true freshman linebacker Wyatt Harris made the stop for no gain on a Sooners' 4th-and-1 rush from the TCU 41 with 3:16 to play.

A Max Duggan 62-yard run, the longest by a TCU quarterback since 2015, set up the Horned Frogs' first points of the game. Two plays later, Sewo Olonilua took a direct snap and scored from 1-yard out to trim the TCU deficit to 21-7 with 8:18 left in the second quarter.

On the Sooners' ensuing possession, Trevon Moehrig forced a fumble with Scott making the recovery. Jonathan Song then capped an 8-play, 48-yard drive to make it a 21-10 game with 2:41 remaining in the first half.

TCU's defense stiffened after OU's opening three possessions as the Sooners were held to 61 yards of offense in the second quarter.

On its opening possession of the second half, Oklahoma went for it on 4th-and-3 at the TCU 42. However, Garret Wallow sacked Jalen Hurts for a 9-yard loss, with the Horned Frogs taking over at the OU 49. Six plays later, Duggan bulldozed his way into the end zone from 11 yards out to close the TCU deficit to 21-17. The Sooners answered with a scoring drive of their own to build their margin back to 28-17.
