Horned Frogs aim to avenge road loss to Iowa State
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball is going for its second straight victory inside The Rickel when the Iowa State Cyclones (13-7, 4-4) come to Fort Worth for a 7:00 p.m. match. It will be a revenge match for TCU after ISU claimed the matchup in Ames, Iowa earlier this month.

Last Match
-TCU is coming off a 3-0 home victory over West Virginia.
-It was the 12th straight sellout crowd this season inside The Rickel. Every home match this season has been sold out.
-TCU delivered 48 kills as a team, the most kills in a three-set match in conference play in program history.
-Freshman setter McKenzie Nichols secured the fourth double-double of her career with 40 assists and 10 digs.
-It was the second 40+ assists effort of her career. She has delivered 220 assists since taking over sole responsibilities at setter (11 assists/set).
-Freshman outside hitter Audrey Nalls led the team with 12 kills, adding in nine digs and three blocks to round out yet another strong performance.
-Redshirt junior Ashley Waggle has established herself as a formidable hitter on the outside over her last seven matches as she strung together 11 kills on a team-best .429 hitting.
-Waggle has hit at-least nine kills in each of her last seven matches, delivering 3.29 kills/set on .227 hitting.
-Sophomore outside élan McCall played in all rotations for the first time this season, finishing with nine kills, eight digs and two blocks.
-Freshman middle blocker Afedo Manyang was a force all night, leading the team with four blocks while adding seven kills, including five in the second set.
-The TCU defense was stingy all night as the Horned Frogs held WVU without an ace – the first time this season TCU hasn't allowed an ace against.
Tough as Nalls
-Audrey Nalls leads all Big 12 freshman in kills per set (3.32) points (234.0) and points per set (3.77).
-She is sixth overall in the conference in kills per set and points per set through 18 matches.
-Nalls has emerged as one of the great all-around talents in the Big 12. She is the only player to average at least 3.00 kills/set, 2.00 digs/set and .67 blocks/set in conference play.
-She set a career-high in hitting percentage, collecting 13 kills on 23 attacks (.391 hitting percentage) against No. 6 Texas.
-Nalls has delivered at least eight kills in all 18 career college matches.
-She reached 200 career kills in just 61 sets, one of the fastest rates in program history, behind some familiar faces McCall (40 sets – 2018) and Jill Kramer (37 sets - 1996).
Nichols Drops Dimes
-Since taking over the setting duties before the Texas match, McKenzie Nichols has shown tremendous strides, setting a new career-best with 59 assists against Texas Tech (10/6) while tallying over 30 assists in five of the last six matches.
-She is averaging 11 assists/set since taking over as the primary setter, the second highest mark in the Big 12.
-She earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors after dropping 91 assists over the course of eight sets (11.38 assists/set) at the start of the month (10/2-10/6).
-Her 59 assists against Tech were the sixth most assists by a freshman in a single match in program history, the most recorded by a freshman in the 25-point set, rally scoring era.
-Her 59 assists stand as the most by a setter in Big 12 play this season and is tied for the second-most assists in a single match by a Big 12 setter this season.
-Nichols has done a magnificent job of distributing the ball, allowing Clark, Waggle and Nalls to average three or more kills per set in Big 12 play.

-Ashley Waggle has enjoyed a career resurgence in her last seven matches.
-The Dripping Springs native hadn't recorded double-digit kills in any of her career matches prior to Big 12 play. She has recorded four such matches in her last seven appearances, including a career-high 19 kills against Texas Tech (10/6).
-She has now recorded 79 kills in her last seven matches (11.3 per match) after averaging 3.2 kills per match in her previous 39 showings.
-Waggle leads the team with 84 total kills in Big 12 play.
-She has recorded 38.3 percent of her career kills in her last seven contests – 206 career kills.
-She entered conference play with a career-high of nine kills, a mark she met or surpassed in each of her last six matches (10 vs. K-State, 9 vs. Texas, 19 at Texas Tech, 12 vs. Baylor, 9 at Iowa State, 9 at Kansas, 11 vs. WVU).
Scouting the Opponent: Iowa State

-The Cyclones have played two matches since defeated TCU in Ames, Iowa, a four-set road loss to Oklahoma and a home sweep of Kansas State.
-ISU boasts the third most efficient offense in the conference, a .250 team hitting percentage, led by sophomore right side, Eleanor Holthaus (averaging 3.05 kills/set on .255 hitting.)
-The Cyclones used a balanced attack to take down the Horned Frogs in the last meeting as five players hit six or more kills in the match.
-TCU had its chances in the earlier meeting, dropping the first two sets, 25-23.
-Iowa State leads the all-time series 12-3. However, TCU won the last meeting at The Rickel, a 3-1 victory in November of 2018.
