TCU begins the second round at 8:31 a.m. Saturday
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Junior Thomas Allkins led the TCU men's golf team with a score of 2-under 70 as the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational began Friday at the Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside Course.
Allkins ended the round tied for 11th place, three strokes out of the current three-way tie for first place. The Keller, Texas native carded one of three eagles on the day for the Frogs. Allkins eagled the par 5 No. 9 hole to shoot 3-under 33 on the front nine.
Mateo Fernández de Oliveira and Justin Gums finished the first round tied for 33rd place at 1-over 73.
Freshman Gustav Frimodt began his round with an eagle on the par 5 No. 1 hole. He shot 4-over 76 and tied for 61st place.
As a team, TCU shot 4-over 292 and stands in 11th place. No. 9 Pepperdine leads the loaded 14-team field, which includes 12 of the nation's top 34 teams.
The Frogs will begin the second round at 8:31 a.m. CT Saturday on hole No. 10.
