TCU bids for second road victory of Big 12 play
FORT WORTH – The conference schedule continues for TCU volleyball as the Horned Frogs head to north to take on the Iowa State Cyclones in a Wednesday night bout inside Hilton Coliseum. The match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. and can be seen on Cyclones TV.
The Horned Frogs boast a three-headed attack unlike any other in the conference. TCU is the only team with three student-athletes averaging three or more kills per set in conference play: Katie Clark (3.31), Ashley Waggle (3.06) and Audrey Nalls (3.00). All three boast 50+ kills after five Bog 12 contests.
Match Information
Last Match
-TCU dropped a three-set contest to No. 1 Baylor.
-Freshman setter McKenzie Nichols, fresh off a Big 12 Rookie of the Week award, posted her third career double-double, posting 35 assists and 10 digs.
-It was her third consecutive match with 30+ assists. She is averaging 11.45 assists/set in that span.
-For the second straight match, the TCU offense was led by Clark and Waggle, both delivered 12 kills.
-For Waggle, it was her third double-digit kill performance in her last four matches. She is averaging a stellar 3.33 kills/set in that period.
-Clark meanwhile has hit 12+ kills in each of the last three matches in which she has played significant time on a 3.75 kills/set clip.

Clark Bait Ooh-ha-ha
-Since the beginning of conference play, Clark has been in an offensive groove.
-She leads the team with 3.31 kills/set in Big 12 matches and has tallied 12 or more kills in the last three matches in which she has played significant time.
-The Arlington native turned in a career-best 21 kills in TCU's five-set victory over Texas Tech (Oct. 6).
-Clark has led the team in kills in all four Big 12 matches in which she has played significant time – limited to brief, one set, appearance against Texas due to injury.
-In her last nine Big 12 matches dating back to last season, Clark is averaging 3.14 kills/set, including double-digit kills in six of those matches.
Snap Waggle Pop
-Redshirt junior Ashley Waggle has enjoyed career matches in her last four appearances.
-The Dripping Springs native hadn't recorded double-digit kills in any of her career matches prior to Big 12 play. She has recorded three such matches in her last four appearances, including a career-high 19 kills against Texas Tech (10/6).
-She has now recorded 50 kills in her last four matches (12.5 per match) after averaging 3.2 kills per match in her previous 39 showings.
-She has recorded 28.2 percent of her career kills in her last four contests – 177 career kills.
-She entered conference play with a career-high of nine kills, a mark she met or surpassed in each of her last four matches (10 vs. K-State, 9 vs. Texas, 19 at Texas Tech and 12 vs. Baylor).
Nalls Well That Ends Well
-Nalls leads all Big 12 freshman in kills per set (3.34) points (199.5) and points per set (3.76).

-The Waxahachie native has been the Horned Frogs primary offensive weapon all season as she leads the team in kills, attacks and points, playing all six rotations.
Nichols Drops Dimes
-Over the last three matches, McKenzie Nichols has taken over setting responsibilities with great success. Setting a new career-best with 59 assists against Texas Tech (10/6) while tallying over 30 assists in all three of her most recent appearances.
-She earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors after dropping 91 assists over the course of eight sets (11.38 assists/set) two weeks ago (10/2-10/6).
-Her 59 assists against Tech were the sixth most assists by a freshman in a single match in program history, the most recorded by a freshman in the 25-point set, rally scoring era.
-Her 59 assists stand as the most by a setter in Big 12 play this season and is tied for the second-most assists in a single match by a Big 12 setter this season.
-Nichols has done a magnificent job of distributing the ball, allowing Clark, Waggle and Nalls to average three or more kills per set in Big 12 play.
Scouting the Opponent: Iowa State
-Iowa State enters play with an 11-6 record, 2-3 Big 12, despite dropping its last two conference home matches – 3-0 vs. No. 1 Baylor and 3-1 vs Texas Tech.
-The Cyclones have struggled at home this season, posting a 3-4 record.
-Iowa State boasts a strong offense, ranking third in the Big 12, behind Baylor and Texas, in both hitting percentage (.256) and kills/set (13.46).
-ISU is led offensively by sophomore RS Eleanor Holthaus who is averaging a team-best 3.05 kills/set after 17 matches.
