Frogs begin Friday at 8 a.m.
FORT WORTH – TCU will begin the second annual Big 12 Match Play Tournament on Friday at 8 a.m. against No. 1 seeded Texas Tech at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas near Houston.
The event will be played over three days consisting of pool play for five sessions followed by a Final Round Sunday afternoon. During the pool play portion, each team will play matches during four sessions and have one session off. Teams will get three points for a win and one point for a draw.
The championship match on Sunday will feature the team with the highest point total from pool A and the team with the highest point total from Pool B. The third-place match will be between the teams with the second highest point totals from their respective pools. Each team will participate in the last match on Sunday.
No. 8 seeded TCU will follow Friday's morning match with an afternoon match against No. 4 Texas at 1:30 p.m. The Frogs will face No. 9 Iowa State Saturday at 8 a.m. and No. 5 West Virginia at 1:30 p.m.
Six Horned Frogs out of the group of Thomas Allkins, Chris Berzina, Trevor Brown, Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, Gustav Frimodt, Justin Gums and Aymeric Laussot will compete each round.
Last season, TCU placed fifth out of the 10 Big 12 Conference teams with wins over Kansas State, West Virginia and TCU, a tie with Oklahoma State and a loss to Kansas.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU is coming off a 12th place finish at the Nike Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 1 in North Plains, Ore. The Frogs were led by Frimodt's 1-over 214, which tied for 30th place.

THE COURSE – Par 71 | 7,007 yards
The Clubs at Houston Oaks opened in 2017. The name comes from an abundance of large oak trees that the course winds among, many of which are over 200 years old.
