Frimodt leads Frogs in Oregon
NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – Battling cold temperatures and a loaded field, the TCU's men's golf team finished the Nike Collegiate Invitational in 12th place Tuesday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.
Temperatures in the low 40's delayed start times by 30 minutes. TCU then shot 8-over 292 to finish with an overall score of 11-over 863. Leading the field of nine top 25 teams was No. 9 Oklahoma (-29), which swept the team and individual titles.
Freshman Gustav Frimodt had the Frogs' best round of the day, shooting even-par 71. He led the team with an overall score of 1-over 214, a season best, and tied for 30th place.
Junior Thomas Allkins finished in a tie for 42nd place with a score of 3-over 216 and sophomore Justin Gums tied for 44nd place at 4-over 217.
The Frogs will be back in action at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, held Oct. 11-13 at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
