
Rybakov Named Big 12 POW

The senior is undefeated in singles entering his final spring season.
FORT WORTH, Texas – After picking up three ranked victories across singles and doubles in a final tune-up before the official start of the spring season, senior Alex Rybakov was named Big 12 Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the third Big 12 weekly honor in the Coral Springs, Fla., native's career and the first this season.
Rybakov remained undefeated in singles entering his final season in Fort Worth as the senior went 3-0 at the Tempe Collegiate Cup and is now 11-1 overall in singles and doubles. Rybakov is now 8-0 in singles on the season entering dual match play and ranked No. 14 nationally. The senior downed two ranked opponents over the weekend with a straight-set win over No. 11 Nuno Borges of No. 3 Mississippi State and No. 92 Zeke Clark of No. 16 Illinois
The Coral Springs, Fla., native also went 2-1 in double action by pairing up with junior Alastair Gray. The duo got their first ranked win of the season with a 6-3 victory over the No. 22 pair of Andrea Bolla and Tim Ruehl of Arizona State.
TCU will start the dual match portion of its season on Friday, Jan. 18 as the team travels to Tulsa for a 6 p.m., match before returning home to host the ITA Kick-Off Weekend from Jan. 26-27 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
