MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Fresh off of the team's training trip in Florida, TCU swimming and diving will return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 12, when the Horned Frogs take on West Virginia in a road Big 12 matchup. The meet is scheduled for 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU last competed over a month ago when the team took on Ouachita Baptist and North Texas in a double-dual meet. Both the men's and women's teams defeated Ouachita Baptist by scores of 158-102 and 224-56 respectively, while the women lost to North Texas by a narrow margin of 149.5-142.5.
Isabella Ashdown won both the one and three-meter dives, compiling NCAA Zone standard scores of 293.92 and 295.05 respectively. Connie Deighton scored a season-best 281.32 in the three-meter, which gave her a second NCAA Zone cut. Deighton met the NCAA Zone standard for the one-meter earlier in the season.
In the water, Brendan Barry and Jonathan Drewes each won a pair of events, with Barry winning the 100 and 200 back stroke, while Drewes won the 100 breast and 100 free. Radu Duican individually won the 200 free and led off TCU's 200 medley relay which also took home the win.
Micaela Roemer had a productive meet, winning the 100 fly and competing on both TCU relays that each finished second. Sally Clough, Lauren Halliburton, and Megan Morris each picked up wins as well, winning the 200 free, 200 breast, and 200 fly respectively.
