Team Notes
* TCU has opened with a 2-0 record for the 11th time in 18 seasons under head coach Gary Patterson.
* TCU had a punt return for a touchdown for the second straight game. After Derius Davis went 73 yards against Southern, KaVontae Turpin took a second-quarter punt 78 yards into the end zone versus SMU.
* TCU improved to 38-12 on the road since 2009, the nation's fourth-best record in that stretch.
* Over the last four seasons, TCU's 42-13 overall record ranks second in the Big 12.
* TCU improved to 110-4 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less.
* TCU's seven-game winning streak over SMU is its longest in the series history.
* TCU is now 15-2 against SMU with Patterson as head coach. The Horned Frogs have defeated the Mustangs in 11 of the last 12 meetings and 17 of the past 19.

* Turpin's fifth career return (four punt, one kickoff) for a touchdown is also a TCU record. He shared the previous mark of four with LaTarence Dunbar (1999-02).
* Turpin added a 42-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter from Shawn Robinson.
* Robinson became the first TCU quarterback to win his first three starts since Jeff Ballard had 11 straight victories from 2005-06.
