The Frogs continued to push to get the equalizer. A corner kick in the 67thminute led to a flurry of activity inside the 6-yard box. Karitas Tomasdottir's bid was knocked off the goal line by a WVU defender. Her follow-up shot was just wide.
West Virginia got a big insurance goal in the 73rdminute. A foul gave the Mountaineers a free kick that found its way inside the 18. Stefany Ferrer-vanGinkel's shot high under the crossbar made it a 2-0 game.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
"We played a good team, congratulations to them. We weren't good enough. Our mentality wasn't the best and I think that's a credit to them. It took us a while to get our feet under ourselves and get into the game. Hat's off to West Virginia for making it uncomfortable for us. It was an opportunity lost. But, we will get back to the drawing board and we will be back Friday against Baylor and we will be ready."
Notes
• TCU was shutout for just the second time this season.
• TCU allowed double-digit shots for just the third time this season.
• TCU was outshot for just the third time this season.
