It's the latest award for Mazzoli, who was named All-Big 12 and a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award earlier this season. On March 14, it was announced Mazzoli would compete for the international team at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup.
Mazzoli is the first TCU golfer to earn all-region honors since Paul Barjon in 2016.
Mazzoli, from Montorfano, Italy, led the Frogs in five of the 11 events he competed in and finished with a team-best score average of 70.82 and was -0.68 under par, the fifth-best in school history. He improved nearly three strokes per round from last season's average of 73.78. Mazzoli also shot at or under par in 25 of the 34 rounds played, the fifth-best in school history.
Other TCU top 10 marks achieved by Mazzoli this season include a par 5 average of 4.6320 (third), a par 4 average of 4.0319 (sixth), a par 3 scoring average of 3.0845 (ninth) and 133 birdies (ninth).
The senior-to-be had five top-10 finishes including a first place finish at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, Feb. 27-28, after recording a score of 10-under 206. He also shot 10-under 206 at the Amer Ari Invitational, Feb. 1-3, and finished tied for sixth in a very competitive field.
