TCU Ends Season in NCAA Regional

STOCKTON, Calif. – After starting the day in position to advance to the NCAA Championships, the TCU men's golf team fell to an eighth place finish Wednesday at the NCAA Regional in Stockton, Calif.
The Horned Frogs held a three-stroke lead after two rounds, but shot 8-over 296 Wednesday and could not keep pace with a hot Oregon team, which shot 8-under 280. TCU, which was making its 29th-straight regional appearance, shot 1-over 865 for the tournament.
Junior Hayden Springer shot a career low 5-under 212 and finished tied for 12th. He followed a 5-under 67 Tuesday with a 3-over 75 on Wednesday.
Junior Pierre Mazier led the Frogs in the final round, shooting 2-under 70. He shot 1-over par 217 for the tournament and placed tied for 37th.
Junior David Ravetto finished tied for 45th after shooting 3-over 219. Junior Stefano Mazzoli shot 6-over 222 and finished tied for 56th. Junior Turner MacLean finished tied for 61st at 7-over 223.
Next season, the Horned Frogs will return all five juniors who competed this week as well as junior Triston Fisher. TCU will also welcome fall signee Alejandro Aguilera to next year's squad.
